Breeding Season once againA quick Budgie update since I got so far behind on writing this past year
Covid-19 affected everyone…
Bird Shows were cancelled, including the BAA Grand National that was supposed to be in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Hopefully, we will be able to hold the show this year.
I got an extremely late start on breeding season, not even pairing my birds until almost the end of December. I have at last count 3 babies in with three different sets of parents. A large number of clear eggs on the first round. Not discouraged by any means, starting of the season has always been a bit slow.
Looking forward to using some of my 2020 birds in the breeding program.
Although I was not doing shipping, I still had more requests for birds than I had available to sell, having buyers coming in from California and Nevada as well as Arizona. Budgies seem to be on the upswing, as I am hearing from many first time breeders. That is a great thing for the hobby!
That being said, I am working on updating my reference library as each year, I do try some new things and have changed a few things in breeding and feeding as well. Check it out Reference Library if you ever have questions please feel free to use the Contact Us form and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
I hope everyone is having a good start to their breeding season, and staying healthy as well. Until next time
